Balasubramanian Krishnamurthy, a lateral entrant currently serving as Joint Secretary (TPRU) in the Department of Revenue, has been assigned additional charge of Joint Secretary (Revenue).

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Finance on Monday (02.06.2025), the competent authority approved the arrangement until a regular incumbent is appointed. This is in addition to the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) role in the Revenue Department, which he was entrusted with on 13 May 2025.

Krishnamurthy has been serving as Joint Secretary in the department since 17 January 2022, following his induction through the lateral entry route. Initially appointed for a three-year term, his tenure was later extended by two years, now set to continue until 17 January 2027.
