The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) on Friday (30.05.2025) recommended candidates for the post of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in two major Public Sector Banks.
Asheesh Pandey has been recommended for the position of MD & CEO at Union Bank of India, while Kalyan Kumar has been shortlisted for the top role at Central Bank of India.
The FSIB conducted interviews with 23 candidates from various public sector banks between May 27 and May 30, 2025. Based on their performance during the interaction, overall expertise, and in line with prevailing guidelines, the bureau finalized the two names.
Currently, Panday serves as Executive Director at the Bank of Maharashtra, and Kumar holds the same post at Punjab National Bank.
The recommendation comes ahead of upcoming vacancies. A Manimekhalai, the incumbent MD & CEO of Union Bank of India, is set to complete her term next month. Meanwhile, MV Rao, who has been at the helm of Central Bank of India since March 2021, is due to retire in July 2025.
