The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday (10.09.2021) appointed senior IAS officer Sameer Sharma (IAS:1985:AP) as new Chief Secretary of the state. Sharma would succeed incumbent Adityanath Das (IAS:1987:AP), who is retiring on September 30. He will take charge on October 1.
Sameer Sharma is now the Special Chief Secretary, Planning and Resource Mobilisation and also the Vice-Chairman of Institute of Leadership, Excellence and Governance.
Sameer Sharma is due to retire from service on November 30 this year. However, it is expected that he too may get an extension in service, like his predecessors.
He returned to the state cadre from Central deputation in July this year, after having served as the Director General of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs.
