New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Ajay Nagabhushan Mn (IAS:2004:KN), presently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent Karnataka cadre on personal grounds.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (September 7, 2026), the competent authority has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for repatriation of Nagabhushan to his parent cadre on personal grounds, with imposition of extended cooling-off.
Nagabhushan had assumed charge as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in January 2025 for a tenure of five years, which was scheduled to continue until January 2030. However, he has been repatriated nearly three years and four months before the scheduled completion of his tenure.
