The central deputation tenure of Sheetal Verma (IAS:2007:UP) as Director of Census Operations (DCO)/Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Uttar Pradesh, has been extended.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (June 20, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs to extend her deputation tenure for an overall tenure up to June 30, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
This is her second extension in the post.
Sheetal Verma was initially appointed in August 2021. Her tenure was originally up to December 31, 2025.
Subsequently, on January 1, 2026, her tenure was extended for an overall tenure of five years up to August 5, 2026.
With the latest order, her deputation tenure has now been extended up to June 30, 2027.
