The Tamil Nadu government has appointed J K Tripathy (IPS:1985:PB) as Director General of Police/ Head of Police Force. He will Succeed T K Rajendran, who is retiring on June 30.
Tripathy will remain as DGP till June 30, 2021 as he has been appointed for a fixed tenure of two years.
Tripathy, presently the DGP/Chairman of the Uniformed Service Recruitment Board, Chennai, has served as Superintendent of Police in nine districts of Tamil Nadu. He had also served as Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order and Commissioner of Police for Chennai.
