Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday (October 15, 2026) appointed senior IAS officer Govind Jaiswal (IAS:2007:AGMUT) as Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor.
As previously reported by LegendOfficers, Jaiswal’s premature repatriation from central deputation and transfer to the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT cadre on October 9, 2026, were carried out to facilitate his appointment.
As per the order, Jaiswal will also hold the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, alongside his regular duties until further orders.
The post fell vacant after Mandeep K Bhandari (IAS:2001:AGMUT) was appointed Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on September 25, 2026.
