Vishal Gunni IPS Early Career
Vishal Gunni began his IPS career with training assignments before moving into field policing in Andhra Pradesh. He served as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Narsipatnam, during the early part of his field career. Contemporary records place him in Narsipatnam from 2013, while later reporting noted that he worked there from 2013 to 2015.
He subsequently served in senior district-level policing assignments. In March 2016, the Andhra Pradesh government posted him as Superintendent of Police, Nellore.
SP of East Godavari
On June 26, 2017, Vishal Gunni took charge as Superintendent of Police, East Godavari district. The appointment was also reflected in the IPS cadre records, which list him as SP, East Godavari from June 26, 2017.
He later moved to specialised policing. In June 2019, he was posted as SP, OCTOPUS, the Andhra Pradesh Police’s counter-terror operations organisation. The MHA Civil List records the posting from June 20, 2019.
