Andhra Pradesh transfers 9 IPS officers; Kanthi Rana Tata, Vishal Gunni get new postings

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government on Sunday (September 20, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for nine IPS officers, including Kanthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni, whose suspension was recently revoked by the state government in connection with the Kadambari Jethwani case.

The postings of Tata and Gunni are significant as both officers had been reinstated and were awaiting posting after the government revoked their suspension earlier this month. The reshuffle also includes the appointment of three officers as Superintendents of Police in the newly specified districts of Markapuram, Palnadu and Polavaram.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

1. CM Thrivikram Verma (IPS:2005:AP), DG, Special Protection Force, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police and Director, Forensic Science Laboratory.
2. R Jayalakshmi (IPS:2006:AP), Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police, CID Cyber Crimes.
3. B Raja Kumari (IPS:2007:AP), IGP, APSP Battalions, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Railways, with full additional charge of IGP, CID Women Safety.
4. Kanthi Rana Tata (IPS:2004:AP), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police, Directorate of Traffic Management and Road Safety.
5. Vishal Gunni (IPS:2010:AP), DIG, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Training, with full additional charge as Director, Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (APPA).
6. Babujee Attada (IPS:2011:AP), DIG, Greyhounds, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Technical Services, with full additional charge as DIG, Greyhounds.
7. Pankaj Kumar Meena (IPS:2020:AP), OSD, Polavaram, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Markapuram district.
8. Jagadeesh Adahalli (IPS:2020:AP), SP, CMSG, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Palnadu district.
9. K Chakravathi (SPS:2020), SP, CID, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Polavaram district.
