New Delhi: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has promoted 11 officers of the 1997 batch of Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) to the grade of Principal Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix (HAG).
According to an office order issued on September 14, 2026, the promotions have been made against the panel year 2026 and will take effect from the date the officers assume charge of their promotional posts and continue until further orders.
The officers promoted are:
- Neelesh Kumar Gupta
- Monika A. Batra
- Amandeep Singh
- Amitesh Bharat Singh
- Shailesh Kumar
- K. Ramakrishnan
- Ajay
- Satish Dhavale
- Rajesh Kumar Verma
- Vinay Kumar Singh
- Bacchu Singh Meena
Their regular postings will be decided subsequently with the approval of the competent authority. Till then, they will assume charge of the promotional posts in situ (as is where is basis).
Notably, CBIC had, through a separate order issued on September 9, 2026, promoted Dinesh Kumar Gupta, also a 1997-batch IRS (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer, to the grade of Principal Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes (HAG) in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix against the panel year 2026.
With the latest order, 12 officers of the 1997 batch have been promoted to the Principal Commissioner grade in September 2026.
