CBI Joint Director Nitin Deep Blaggan tenure extended by one year

Nitin Deep Blaggan’s deputation as CBI Joint Director has been extended by one year, taking his tenure up to October 8, 2027.

IPS Nitin Deep Blaggan gets extension as Joint Director, CBI

New Delhi: The deputation tenure of Nitin Deep Blaggan (IPS:2003:RJ) as Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been extended by one year.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 16, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal to extend his deputation tenure for one year beyond October 8, 2026, in relaxation of the IPS Tenure Policy, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Blaggan has been serving as Joint Director in the CBI since February 2023. He was inducted into the CBI in October 2019 as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for a period of five years.

His tenure in the CBI was subsequently extended by two years in July 2024, taking it up to October 8, 2026.

With the latest extension, Blaggan will continue as Joint Director in the CBI until October 8, 2027.
