New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Vasudha Chandra Suratkal, Chief General Manager (Mining, ME), KIOCL Limited, for appointment as Managing Director, Orissa Mineral Development Company Limited (OMDC). The recommendation was made at the PESB selection meeting held on September 11, 2026.
Suratkal’s name will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for approval. His appointment will be subject to vigilance clearance and completion of other prescribed formalities.
The PESB recommendation will pave the way for Suratkal’s return to the OMDC Managing Director’s post, subject to ACC approval. He had earlier held the additional charge from February 22, 2025 to February 21, 2026, after which GVN Prasad, Director (Commercial), RINL, was given the additional charge from February 22, 2026.
A total of four candidates appeared before the PESB selection panel for the post:
- Akhandalamani Behera, General Manager, General Manager (Vigilance)-I/C and HOD with E-8 Power, RINL.
- KVSLN Sastry, General Manager, GM (Mech) SP, RINL.
- Vasudha Chandra Suratkal, Chief General Manager (Mining, ME), KIOCL Limited.
- Puvvula Sai Srinivas, General Manager, General Manager (Commercial), NMDC Limited.
