8 IRS-C&IT officers promoted to Chief Commissioner Grade

New Delhi: Eight IRS (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officers have been promoted to the rank of Chief Commissioner (C&IT), in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG), for the panel year 2026 under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).

According to an order issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) on Monday(August 24, 2026), the promotions have been made against the panel year 2026.

They are:

1. Ved Prakash Shukla (IRS-C&IT:1993)
2. N. Sridhar (IRS-C&IT:1993)
3. Jaideep P. (IRS-C&IT:1993)
4. Gurusharan Singh (IRS-C&IT:1993)
5. Vidhyadhar Namdeorao Thete (IRS-C&IT:1993)
6. Kiran Verma (IRS-C&IT:1993)
7. Arvinder Singh Ranga (IRS-C&IT:1993)
8. KM Ravichandran (IRS-C&IT:1992)

The first five officers have been promoted with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the promotional post and until further orders.

The remaining three officers — Kiran Verma, Arvinder Singh Ranga and K.M. Ravichandran — have also been promoted against the panel year 2026, with effect from the date of assumption of charge, but not before September 1, 2026.
