Kolkata: The West Bengal Government on Monday (August 3, 2026) posted three IPS officers from the Intelligence Branch (IB) to the Directorate of Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on deputation with immediate effect.
According to an order issued by the Home & Hill Affairs Department, the officers are Murli Dhar (IPS:2005:WB), Inspector General of Police (IB); Akash Magharia (IPS:2009:WB), Deputy Inspector General (IB); and Kamanasish Sen (IPS:2014:WB), Senior Superintendent, Intelligence Branch. They have been posted to the Directorate of Anti-Corruption Branch on deputation basis until further orders.
In a parallel move, the Director General of Police (DGP), West Bengal, issued a separate order deputing 16 police personnel from different wings of the state police to the Anti-Corruption Branch for a period of two months.
The deputed personnel include one Deputy Superintendent of Police, seven Inspectors, two Sub-Inspectors and six Constables, drawn from units including Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal STF, CID, Criminal Investigation Department, Hooghly Rural, Howrah GRP, Krishnanagar Police District, Sundarban Police District, Intelligence Branch and West Bengal Police Directorate.
The personnel have been directed to report to the Anti-Corruption Branch by 10:00 AM on August 4, 2026.
