A major development in Padma Jaiswal’s career came in May 2026, when she was dismissed from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) by the President of India after the completion of disciplinary proceedings in a long-pending corruption case.

The action was linked to allegations dating back to 2007–08, when she was serving as Deputy Commissioner of West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh. The Central Government approved the dismissal following recommendations made through the prescribed disciplinary process.

Before her dismissal, Padma Jaiswal had been serving as Special Secretary, Administrative Reforms Department, Government of NCT of Delhi, a position she had held since 16 February 2026.
