West Bengal govt transfers 33 IPS & WBPS officers; NR Babu is new DG & IGP, CID

Kolkata: The West Bengal government on Tuesday (July 14, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for 33 IPS and WBPS officers in a major police reshuffle. Notably, Natarajan Ramesh Babu (IPS) has been appointed as Director General & Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP), CID, West Bengal, with additional charge of DG, Correctional Services.

The names of the officers and their new postings are as follows:

1. Natarajan Ramesh Babu (IPS:1991:WB), DG, Correctional Services, has been transferred and posted as DG & IGP, CID, West Bengal, with additional charge of DG, Correctional Services.
2. Supratim Sarkar (IPS:1997:WB), ADG & IGP, CID, with additional charge of ADG, IB, Kolkata, has been transferred and posted as ADG, Telecommunications, West Bengal.
3. K Jayaraman (IPS:1997:WB), ADG & IGP, North Bengal Region, has been transferred and posted as Director, Directorate of Economic Offences.
4. Tripurari Atharv (IPS:1998:WB), Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate (in the rank of ADG), has been transferred and posted as ADG, Traffic & Road Safety, West Bengal.
5. Anand Kumar (IPS:1998:WB), ADG & IGP, Legal, has been transferred and posted as ADG & IGP, Western Zone, West Bengal.
6. Vishal Garg (IPS:1999:WB), ADG & IGP, Western Zone, has been transferred and posted as ADG & IGP, Intelligence Branch (IB), West Bengal.
7. Praveen Kumar Tripathi (IPS:2004:WB), IGP, STF, has been transferred and posted as IG, Home Guard, West Bengal.
8. Sukesh Kumar Jain (IPS:2005:WB), IGP, CCW, has been transferred and posted as IGP, North Bengal Region.
9. Sudheer Kumar Neelakantam (IPS:2007:WB), IGP, CIF, has been transferred and posted as IG, STF, West Bengal.
10. Rathod Amitkumar Bharat (IPS:2009:WB), DIG, Raiganj Range, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate (in the rank of DIG).
11. David Ivan Lepcha (IPS:2010:WB), DIG, Traffic, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Raiganj Range.
12. VSR Ananthnag (IPS:2011:WB), Joint CP (A), Kolkata, will continue as Joint CP (A), Kolkata, with additional charge of Joint CP, STF, Kolkata.
13. Dinesh Kumar (IPS:2012:WB), Joint CP, STF, Kolkata, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Barasat Range, with additional charge of DIG, STF, West Bengal.
14. Pradeep Kumar Yadav (IPS:2013:WB), designated as DC, 4th Battalion, Kolkata, has been transferred and posted as DC, Cyber, Kolkata.
15. Arindam Sarkar (IPS:2011:WB), DC, KAP 2nd Battalion, has been transferred and posted as DC, East Division, Kolkata.
16. Bishop Sarkar (IPS:2014:WB), SP, STF, has been transferred and posted as Commanding Officer, Narayani Battalion, Cooch Behar.
17. Yeilwad Shrikant Jagannathrao (IPS:2015:WB), DC, DD, Kolkata, has been transferred and posted as SP, Darjeeling.
18. Pratiksha Jharkhariya (IPS:2016:WB), SP, Darjeeling, has been transferred and posted as DC, KAP 1st Battalion.
19. Jaspreet Singh (IPS:2016:WB), SP, Cooch Behar, has been transferred and posted as SP, CCW, West Bengal.
20. Amlan Kusum Ghosh (IPS:2016:WB), DC, North, Howrah Police Commissionerate, designated as DC, STF, Kolkata, will continue as DC, North, Howrah Police Commissionerate.
