PESB recommends Anjani Kumar for Western Coalfields Director (Technical) post

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Anjani Kumar for appointment as Director (Technical), Western Coalfields Limited.

The recommendation was made during the PESB selection meeting held on Monday (June 22, 2026). Kumar is currently serving as Executive Director (Contracts), Coal India Limited.

Following the recommendation, his name will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. The appointment will be subject to vigilance clearance and completion of other prescribed formalities.

A total of 11 candidates appeared before the PESB selection panel. They were;

7. Rajesh Ranjan, General Manager, Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited
8. Ranjay Sinha, General Manager, Dhori Area, Central Coalfields Limited
9. Sanjeev Kumar, General Manager Area General Manager, Amlohri Project, Northern Coalfields Limited
10. Umesh Singh, Executive Director Unit Head ,Indian Copper Complex, Hindustan Copper Limited
