The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Salil Kumar Nag for appointment as Director (Technical), Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL).
The recommendation was made during the PESB selection meeting held on Monday (June 22, 2026). Nag is currently serving as General Manager (Mining), Hindustan Copper Limited.
Following the recommendation, his name will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. The appointment will be subject to vigilance clearance and completion of other prescribed formalities.
Notably, the post of Director (Technical), UCIL has remained vacant since November 22, 2025, after the then incumbent, Manoj Kumar, was removed following an inquiry into allegations of delay and non-compliance with official orders. The Public Enterprises Selection Board had advertised the vacancy on February 25, 2026.
A total of ten candidates appeared before the PESB selection panel. They were;
