Senior bureaucrat Sanjay Jaju (IAS:1992:TG), who was recently repatriated from Central deputation, has been appointed as the next Chief Secretary of Telangana.

The Telangana government on Friday (June 26, 2026) issued orders appointing Jaju as the Chief Secretary. He will take over charge from K Ramakrishna Rao (IAS:1988:TG), who is set to retire on June 30, 2026, on attaining the age of superannuation.

Notably, the Centre had on June 23 repatriated Jaju to his parent cadre at the request of the Telangana government. At the time of his repatriation, he was serving as Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).

A 1992-batch IAS officer of the Telangana cadre, Jaju has held several key assignments both in the state government and at the Centre. He was appointed Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) in March 2026 after serving as Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
