Tamil Nadu govt transfers 56 police officers in major reshuffle

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday (June 16, 2026) carried out a major reshuffle in the police department by transferring and posting 56 police officers across Greater Chennai Police, district police units, commissionerates and specialised wings.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. E S Uma (IPS:2010:TN), DIGP, on compulsory wait, has been posted as DIGP, Headquarters, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai.
2. Dr K S Balla Krisshnan, DCP, Headquarters, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as DIGP, Cyber Crime Cell, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai.
3. S Selvaraj (IPS:2018:TN), Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Crime Branch-I, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, High Court Security, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai.
4. S Arockiam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Crime Branch-III, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as SP/Assistant Inspector General of Police, Social Justice and Human Rights, Chennai.
5. Dr G Vanitha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Against Women and Children, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Headquarters and Administration, Avadi Police Commissionerate, Chennai.
6. D Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic (South), Greater Chennai Police, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police/Chief Security Officer, Chennai Metro Rail Limited, Chennai.
7. K Muthu Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pulianthope, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic (South), Greater Chennai Police, Chennai.
8. G Gopi, Superintendent of Police, on compulsory wait, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Flower Bazaar, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai.
