The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended Justice Meenakshi M Rai of the Sikkim High Court as the next Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. The decision was taken in the Collegium meeting held on May 22, 2026.
Justice Rai has been recommended following the retirement of present Patna High Court Chief Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo. He is set to retire on June 4, 2026.
Justice Rai is currently serving as a Judge of the Sikkim High Court.
With the vacancy coming up next month, the Collegium has moved to recommend her name for the top post in the Patna High Court.
