The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday (May 18, 2026) appointed Gunveer Singh as Executive Director (ED) with effect from May 18, 2026.
Prior to his elevation, Singh was serving as Chief General Manager-in-Charge of the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems of the Reserve Bank.
He brings more than three decades of experience in the RBI and has worked across several key areas including payment and settlement systems, banking and non-banking supervision, risk monitoring and government banking. He has also served as a payment systems expert at the Central Bank of Oman.
As Executive Director, Singh will oversee the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems.
A Chartered Accountant and Cost and Works Accountant by qualification, Singh takes over the role with extensive experience in the payments and regulatory ecosystem.
