DoPT orders IAS A Vani Prasad’s immediate reallocation to Telangana cadre

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has ordered the immediate relocation of senior IAS officer A Vani Prasad (IAS:1995:AP) from the Andhra Pradesh cadre to the Telangana cadre. The DoPT has also directed the Andhra Pradesh government to immediately relieve the IAS officer so that she could be reallocated to the Telangana cadre following the direction of the Telangana High Court.

The High Court had ruled that the officer, who originally belonged to the combined Andhra Pradesh cadre before bifurcation in 2014, be shifted from the Andhra cadre to the Telangana cadre. The DoPT’s communication sent to the Andhra govt says that Vani Prasad must be directed to join the Telangana government without any delay.
