West Bengal government orders a major reshuffle, transferring 20 IPS and 20 WBPS officers, including 10 district police chiefs.

The West Bengal government on Thursday (November 27, 2025) ordered a major police reshuffle, transferring 20 IPS and 20 WBPS officers, including 10 district police chiefs.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  • 1. Arijit Sinha (IPS), SP, Jhargram (DIG Rank), has been transferred as DIG, Midnapore Range.
  • 2. Vaibhav Tiwari (IPS), SP, Bankura, has been posted as SP, Purulia.
  • 3. Avijit Banerjee (IPS), SP, Purulia, has been posted as SP, Malda
  • 4. Pradeep Kumar Yadav (IPS), SP, Malda, has been transferred as SP, Traffic, Uttar Dinajpur.
  • 5. Y Raghuvanshi (IPS), SP, Alipurduar, has been transferred and posted as SP, Jalpaiguri.
  • 6. Sachin (IPS), SS, IB, WB, has been posted as DC, New Town, Bidhanagar PC.
  • 7. Dhritiman Sarkar (IPS), SP, Paschim Medinipur, has been transferred and posted as SS, IB, WB.
  • 8. Khandbahale Umesh Ganpat (IPS), SP, Jalpaiguri, has been transferred as SP, Alipurduar.
  • 9. Sana Akhtar (IPS), SP, Raiganj Police District, has been transferred as DC, West Zone, Asansol Durgapur PC.
  • 10. Dr Sonawane Kuldip Suresh (IPS), SS, IB, WB Designated as DC, West Zone, Asansol Durgapur PC, has been transferred and posted as SP, Raiganj Police District.
  • 11. Soumyadip Bhattacharya (IPS), SP, Purba Medinipur, has been posted as SP, Bankura.
  • 12. Manav Sinha (IPS), DC New Town, Bidhannagar PC, has been transferred as SP, Jhargram.
