Charanjeet Singh appointed India’s Ambassador to UN Conference on Disarmament

Charanjeet Singh, Additional Secretary in MEA, is appointed as India’s next Ambassador and PR to the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.

Senior diplomat Charanjeet Singh (IFS: 1996) was on Tuesday (November 18, 2025) appointed as the next Ambassador and Permanent Representative of India to the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said, “Shri Charanjeet Singh (IFS: 1996), presently Additional Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador/PR of India to the UN Conference on Disarmament, Geneva.”

“He is expected to take up the assignment shortly,” the ministry added.
