Senior IAS officer Ajay Bhadoo (IAS:1999:GJ), Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, will continue to hold additional charge of the post of Director General, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (November 6, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of his additional charge for a further period from October 21, 2025, to April 20, 2026, or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Earlier, on August 22, Mr. Bhadoo was given ex-post facto approval for holding additional charge of the DGFT post from April 21, 2025, to October 20, 2025, or until a regular appointment was made. Since no regular appointment has been finalised yet, his tenure has now been formally extended.
