The central deputation tenure of Mahmood Ahmed (IP&TA&FS:1993) as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has been extended.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (September 11, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of his deputation tenure up to October 25, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mahmood Ahmed has been serving as Additional Secretary, MoRTH since November 2022. Before his elevation, he worked as Joint Secretary in the same ministry, a position he assumed in September 2020 for a five-year tenure. Following his empanelment as Additional Secretary, he took charge of the upgraded post in November 2022.
