In a significant development, the Haryana government on Monday (July 21, 2025) issued transfer and posting orders for two senior IPS officers, effectively swapping their responsibilities.
Senior IPS officer Muhammad Akil (IPS:1989:HY), who was serving as Director General, Prisons, has been transferred and posted as Commandant General, Home Guards & Civil Defence. Alok Kumar Roy (IPS:1991:HY), previously Commandant General, Home Guards & Civil Defence, has been appointed as Director General, Prisons.
