The Maharashtra government on Friday (13.12.2024) appointed senior IAS officer Ashwini Bhide (IAS:1995:MH) as Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. She will also continue to hold the current charge as MD of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation until further orders.
Bhide replaces Brijesh Singh (IPS:1996:MH), who was the first IPS officer appointed as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Singh’s appointment had been made by then-Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in February 2023.
Notably, Shrikar Pardeshi (IAS:2001:MH), who served as Secretary to Fadnavis when he was Deputy Chief Minister in the previous government, was recently transferred to the CMO as a Secretary.
