In a significant development, the Haryana government on Tuesday (10.12.2024) assigned senior IAS officer Pankaj Agarwal (IAS:2000:HY) the additional charge of Commissioner and Secretary, School Education Department. He currently serves as the Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana and Commissioner and Secretary, Election Department.
Agarwal was appointed as Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on July 8, under whose leadership the 2024 State Assembly elections were successfully conducted. Before taking on election related roles, he served as Commissioner and Secretary of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department and the Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
