Gujarat: 18 IAS officers shifted; Manoj Kumar Das posted as ACS to CM

In a significant development, the Gujarat government on Wednesday (31.07.2024) enacted a major bureaucratic reshuffle by assigning new responsibilities to 18 senior IAS officers. Notably, Manoj Kumar Das has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Sunaina Tomar (IAS:1989:GJ), Additional Chief Secretary, Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Schivalaya, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department (Higher & Technical), Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Social Justice & Empowerment Department.
2. Pankaj Joshi (IAS:1989:GJ), Additional Chief Secretary, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar would hold the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Ports & Transport Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar.
3. Manoj Kumar Das (IAS:1990:GJ), Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Department, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Gandhinagar.
4. Dr. Jayanti S Ravi (IAS:1991:GJ), on her repatriation from central deputation to state cadre, has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Ravenue Department, Gandhinagar.
5. Dr. Anuj Sharma (IAS:1991:GJ), Additional Chief Secretary, Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Gandhinagar.
6. SJ Haider (IAS:1991:GJ), Additional Chief Secretary, Industries & Mines Department, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Gandhinagar.
7. Jagdish Prasad Gupta (IAS:1991:GJ), Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Tribal Development Department, Gandhinagar.
8. Dr. T Natarajan (IAS:1996:GJ), on his repatriation from central deputation to state cadre, has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Gandhinagar.
9. Mamta Verma (IAS:1996:GJ), Principal Secretary, Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Industries & Mines Department.
10. Mukesh Kumar (IAS:1996:GJ), Principal Secretary, Education Department (Higher & Technical Education), Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Education Department (Primary & Secondary Education).
11. Rajeev Topno (IAS:1996:GJ), on his repatriation from central deputation to state cadre, has been appointed as Chief Commissioner of State Tax, Ahmedabad.
12. Dr. S Murali Krishna (IAS:1998:GJ), Principal Secretary, Tribal Development Department, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of State Election Commission for appointment as OSD to Commissioner, State Election Commission, Gandhinagar.
13. Dr. Vinod Ramachandra Rao (IAS:2000:GJ), Secretary, Education Department (Primary & Secondary Education) has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department, Gandhinagar.
14. Anupam Anand (IAS:2000:GJ), Commissioner, Labour, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Transport, Gandhinagar, with additional charge of Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, Ahmedabad.
15. Rajesh Manjhu (IAS:2004:GJ), Principal Secretary, Governor of Gujarat, has been transferred and posted as Revenue Inspection Commissioner & Ex-officio Secretary, Revenue Department, Gandhinagar.
16. Rakesh Shankar (IAS:2004:GJ), Secretary, GAD (Planning), Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner/Secretary, Women & Child Development Department, Gandhinagar with additional charge of Secretary, GAD (Planning), Gandhinagar.
17. KK Nirala (IAS:2005:GJ), Commissioner/Secretary, Women & Child Development Department, Gandhinagar with additional charge of Secretary, Finance Department (Expenditure), Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Finance Department (Expenditure), Gandhinagar.
18. AM Sharma (IAS-SCS:2008:GJ), Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, Ahmedabad, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to Governor of Gujarat.
