The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) is a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, categorized as a “Mini Ratna (Category-I).” In line with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage and historical places, as well as promote the tourism concepts of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” and “Dekho Apna Desh,” Indian Railways introduced the “Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains.” These theme-based trains aim to exhibit India’s diverse cultural and religious heritage to both domestic and international tourists.
Following the success of tours like “Shri Ramayana Yatra” and “Garvi Gujarat,” a new journey is set to operate on the renowned pilgrimage circuit, the “Chardham Yatra,” using the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train.
This 17-day tour, commencing on September 14, 2023, from Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, covers significant destinations such as Badrinath, Jagannath Puri, Rameshwaram, and Dwarkadhish. Additionally, it includes visits to Jyotirlinga temples in Varanasi, Nashik, and Dwarka, as well as prominent places like Madurai and Hampi. The total distance covered during this journey is approximately 8250 kilometers.
The Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train offers various amenities, including two fine-dining restaurants, a modern kitchen, shower cubicles in AC I and II tier coaches, sensor-based washroom functions, foot massagers, and three types of accommodation: AC I, AC II, and AC III. The train also features enhanced security measures with CCTV cameras and security guards for each coach. IRCTC has launched this special tourist train at a competitive price to promote domestic tourism.
