The deputation tenure of Saket Kumar (IAS:2009:BH) as Private Secretary to the Home Minister Amit Shah has been extended for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved of the Ministry of Home Affairs to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Kumar for a period of two years beyond 16.08.2023 and upto 16.08.2025 (i.e maximum limit 7 years away from cadre) in relaxation of upper limit of 5 years of working as PS/OSD in a Minister’s staff or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
