The Union ministry of home affairs on Wednesday appointed senior IPS officer Pankaj Kumar Singh (IPS:1988:RJ) as the Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF). Presently, he is serving as Special DG, BSF.
He will take charge on August 31 after the retirement of IPS officer and ITBP DG S S Deswal (IPS:1984:HY), who is holding additional charge of the BSF DG after the tenure of Gujarat cadre officer Rakesh Asthana (IPS:1984:GJ) ended in July as he was appointed as Delhi Police Commissioner.
