V S K Kaumudi (IPS:1986:AP) has been appointed to the post of Special Secretary (Internal Security), Ministry of Home Affairs upto 30.11.2022 i.e. date of his superannuation or till further orders. Presently, he is serving as DG, BPR&D.
The crucial Internal Security division in the Home Ministry deals with police, law and order, besides analysing threats emerging from terrorists and Maoists, among others.
