Senior IPS officer and Director of Telangana State Police Academy (TSPA) VK Singh (IPS:1987:TG), has sought permission from the Centre for premature retirement, saying he joined the service with great hopes to change the police system but failed to achieve his ambitions. Singh in a letter addressed to Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs requested to permit him to retire from October 2, 2020.
In his resignation letter VK Singh told that Telangana government was also not much impressed his services. So he decided to do his part of serving people by staying outside the government rather than with the government.
This comes a month after the 1987-batch officer had written a letter to Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar reminding the government that it had not taken up promotions for his batch. Citing humiliation and neglect, he had offered to resign from the service. The Additional DG rank officer, awaiting his superannuation in November, has been in line for promotion to DG rank for the last two years.
