The Haryana government has urged the Centre to not accept the resignation of IAS Rani Nagar (IAS:2014:HY), who resigned on May 4 on citing threat to her “personal safety on government duty”.
On Thursday, the Chief Secretary, however, suggested an inter-state deputation for her, to her parent state of Uttar Pradesh.
Her resignation embarrassed the Khattar Government, and the opposition accused it of compromising women’s safety.
Meanwhile, Faridabad MP Krishan Pal Gujjar thanked Khattar for “rejecting” her resignation and recommending her shift to Uttar Pradesh.
Nagar, former Additional Director, Social Justice and Empowerment, and Additional Director, Archives, had announced her decision to quit on Facebook last month. Citing threat to her safety during past couple of years, Nagar wanted to return to her native place in Ghaziabad.
In June 2018, Nagar had leveled harassment charges against the Additional Chief Secretary, animal husbandry and dairy department.
Earlier, in 2017 too, she raised the issue of her safety, while she was posted as SDM in Dabwali.
