Work allocation of Chairman & Members of CBDT

The Department of Revenue (Union Finance Ministry) on Thursday (10.08.2023) issued a notification outlining the distribution of responsibilities among the Members of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

The Department of Revenue (Union Finance Ministry) on Thursday (10.08.2023) issued a notification outlining the distribution of responsibilities among the Members of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The effective implementation of these allocations will be immediate.

The names of the officers and their responsibilities are as follows :

  1. Nitin Gupta (IRS-IT:1986), serving as Chairman, will oversee and coordinate the activities of the Board as well as provide general supervision. Additionally, he will be responsible for supervising investigative tasks.
  2. Pragya Sahay Saksena (IRS-IT:1987), as Member (Legislation), will hold supervisory authority over TPL, FT&TR, and Pr. CCIT (International Taxation). She will also assume the role of in-charge for the North Zone, covering Delhi, UP (E), UP (West), Uttarakhand, and NWR.
  3. Subashree Anantakrishna (IRS-IT:1987), Member (Audit & Judicial), will hold supervisory authority over DGIT (L&R), and she will be in charge of the Central Zone, which includes Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP, and Chhattisgarh.
  4. Pravin Kumar (IRS-IT:1987), Member (IT&R), will exercise supervision over Pr. CCIT (Exemption) and will take charge of Karnataka & Goa, as well as AP & Telangana.
  5. Harinder Bir Singh Gill (IRS-IT:1987), Member (TPS), will supervise Pr. DGIT (Administration & TPS) and will be responsible for the East Zone, West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar and Jharkhand, Odisha, and NER.
  6. Sanjai Kumar Verma (IRS-IT:1988), Member (Systems & FS) will excercise supervision of DGsIT (Systems) and Faceless Schemes. He will serve as the in-charge for Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
  7. Ravi Agrawal (IRS-IT:1988), Member (Administration), will oversee Pr. DGIT (HRD), Pr. DGIT (Training), and DGIT (Vigilance). Additionally, he will take on the role of in-charge for the West Zone, including Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur.
