Amid speculation around appointment of Vivek Joshi (IAS:1989:HY) as Chief Secretary of Haryana, the central government on Saturday (26.10.2024) approved his repatriation to his parent cadre at the request of the Haryana government. This move strongly suggests Joshi is set to assume the role of Chief Secretary, with a formal announcement expected soon as the incumbent, Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad (IAS:1988:HY), prepares for retirement on October 31.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order stated, ” The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the repatriation of Shri Vivek Joshi, IAS (HY:89), Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions to his parent cadre on request of the Government of Haryana”.
