Senior bureaucrat Vivek Johri (IRS-C&IT:1985) was on Sunday (28.11.2021) appointed as the Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). He is currently working as the a member in the CBIC and will succeed M Ajit Kumar (IRS-C&IT) who completes his tenure this month end. His appointment was approved by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet.
