The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Vivek Chaturvedi (IRS-C&IT:1990) as a Member of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).
Chaturvedi, who is presently serving as Principal Director General of Vigilance and Chief Vigilance Officer at CBIC, will succeed Vivek Ranjan (IRS-C&IT:1990), whose tenure as Board Member for Tax Policy & Legal ended on August 31, 2025.
This marks the beginning of a significant leadership reshuffle within the CBIC, as two additional Board Members, including the CBIC Chairperson, are slated to retire on November 30, 2025. All eyes are now on who will be chosen to fill these key vacancies, with speculation already mounting over potential successors.
