Vishal V Sharma was on Thursday appointed as the next permanent representative of India to the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Paris, with the rank of Ambassador, in succession to Jawed Ashraf (IFS:1991). Sharma is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
