Senior IAS officer Vir Vikarm Yadav (IAS:1996:OR), currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), has been assigned additional charge of Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (May 30, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Yadav’s appointment to the post. He will hold the additional charge until a regular incumbent is appointed or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
