Vijay Kumar Singh is new Vice Chairman of DDA

Senior bureaucrat Vijay Kumar Singh (ICAS:1995), currently Finance Member at the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), has now been entrusted with the additional charge of Vice Chairman on Monday (11.11.2024).

Mr. Singh will replace IAS officer Subhasish Panda (IAS:1997:HP), who was shifted to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as Additional Secretary on October 17, 2024.

According to the order issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, “It has been decided with the approval of competent authority to assign the additional charge of the post of Vice Chairman, DDA to Vijay Kumar Singh, Finance Member, DDA, with immediate effect for a period of six months or till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

Before joining the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in June 2021, he held key portfolios across various ministries, including Director (Finance) in the former Planning Commission, Controller of Accounts in the Ministry of External Affairs, and Director in the Department of Expenditure under the Ministry of Finance.

In the Finance Ministry, his responsibilities included implementing the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations, and he contributed to the Expenditure Management Commission chaired by Bimal Jalan. His career began in Doordarshan as Assistant Controller of Accounts, and he later served on deputation at the Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management.

Singh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, and completed his Master’s and MPhil degrees at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
