Senior IPS Vijay Kumar (IPS:1997:AGMUT) is likely to join Delhi Police as Special Commissioner. Currently serving as Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) in Jammu and Kashmir, Kumar is a decorated officers with several gallantry medals. He may be relieved from his current responsibilities after PM Modi’s scheduled visit to Kashmir on January 13 to inaugurate the Z-Morh tunnel.
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday (09.01.2025) issued transfer orders of Kumar to Delhi segment of the AGMUT cadre. Interestingly, the order was signed on January 2, prior to the announcement of the Delhi Assembly elections.
