The central deputation tenure of Ved Prakash Mishra (IRS-IT:2004) as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has been extended by one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (March 30, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend his deputation tenure by one year beyond March 31, 2026 or until further order, which ever is earlier.
He has been serving in the position since March 31, 2021. His five-year tenure was scheduled to expire on March 31, 2026, which has now been extended by one year.
