The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), will commemorate its 100th anniversary with a year-long calendar of events and activities. Commemoration of the centenary year will start on October 1, 2025, and run through October 1, 2026. The recent commission meeting, which was chaired by UPSC Chairman Ajay Kumar, made the observation in this regard.

The Public Service Commission was founded in India on October 1, 1926, in response to the Government of India Act, 1919’s provisions and the Lee Commission’s (1924) recommendations. After being renamed the Federal Public Service Commission in 1937, it became the Union Public Service Commission on January 26, 1950, when India’s constitution was ratified.

UPSC intends to unveil a logo and slogan that represent the commission’s service to the country as part of the festivities. During the centennial year, a number of new projects and reforms are also being planned and will be introduced. In addition to compiling the events
schedule, UPSC has also solicited feedback and recommendations from its staff.
