UPSC shortlists three names for Haryana DGP post

The Union Public Service Commission, which held its meeting in New Delhi on Thursday (12.08.2021), shortlisted three names for the Haryana Director-General of Police (DGP) post and forwarded the list to the state government for appointment to the top post.

The selected names include ;

  1. P K Agrawal (IPS:1988:)
  2. Mohammad Akil (IPS:1989)
  3. R C Mishra (IPS:1989)

Now, it is for the the Haryana government to choose its candidates from out of these names.

DGP Manoj Yadava (IPS:1988:HY), who has been state police chief since February 21, 2019 was given the extension till 20 February, 2022 or till further orders when his two-year stint ended earlier this year. However, Mr Yadava on June 22, 2021, wrote to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Rajiv Arora (IAS:1987:HY) seeking repatriation to his parent cadre of Intelligence Bureau citing personal reasons and career prospect.
