The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday (21.11.2024) recommended three senior IPS officers for the post of Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP). This marks a key step as the current DGP, Sudhir Saxena (IPS:1987:MP), is set to retire on November 30.
An announcement is expected tonight or tomorrow since Chief Minister Mohan Yadav leaves for a foreign tour on November 23 and will return on November 30. If a new DGP is not appointed before November 23, the decision will likely be delayed until the end of the month.
The three officers shortlisted are:
- Arvind Kumar (IPS:1988:MP), Chairman, Police Housing Corporation
- Kailash Makwana (IPS:1988:MP), DG, Home Guard
- Ajay Sharma (IPS:1989:MP), DG, Economic Offences Wing (EOW)
Among them, Arvind Kumar is said to be the frontrunner for the post.
