The sacked IAS officer, Pooja Khedkar, seems to be in a habit of generating controversies and inviting troubles. She was sacked from the elite service after the cancellation of her candidature by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on July 31 for alleged cheating and wrongly availing OBC and disability quota benefits. Besides cancelling her candidature, the UPSC also debarred her from future exams.

Now, the UPSC has moved the Delhi High Court for initiating perjury proceedings against her accusing her of filing false documents in the court in an attempt to manipulate judicial system.

Interestingly, it was Khedkar who had initially approached the High Court challenging the UPSC’s press release about the cancellation of her candidature, claiming that the cancellation order was never communicated to her and it was through the press release that she came to know about it.

The UPSC has contended that the July 31 cancellation order had been communicated to her the same day on her registered email id; she had given in her online application for the Civil Service Program (CSP) 2022. The Delhi HC has issued notice to Khedkar on the UPSC’s plea for initiation of perjury proceedings against her. Pooja has been given three weeks time to file her reply to it. The matter is listed for hearing on November 26.
